Who do you wish you had more compassion for?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 09, 2009:
I have a hard time having compassion for people who use or follow religious doctrines to go so far as to discriminate against others or push their own politcal agenda's. I am a pretty empathetic person and I am pretty compassionate with lots of people, except people who discriminate so much.

Help

I, too, have some measure of difficulty with this, being raised in a family that follows such discriminatory outlook.
The hardest lesson I'm trying to teach myself is “Everyone has a right to belief what they will, regardless.” To us, that means giving people the freedom to believe as they will, and, albeit somewhat unfortunate, that includes their worldview.
Just remind yourself that we are all on this journey together, and although it isn't the easiest choice, we can best help ourselves by helping those who need us.
Thank you, Donald. :-)
